Randy S. Boyd, 66 of Mason City passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 8, 2023 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center.
A memorial gathering will be planned for the future.
A lifelong Mason City resident, Randy Scott Boyd was born September 12, 1957 to parents, Gene and Dorothy (Boles) Boyd. After attending Mason City High School, Randy joined the United States Army, where he specialized in Combat Helicopter Mechanics. Following his honorable discharge, Randy returned to Mason City, graduating from NIACC’s welding certification program and honed his welding skills at various employers across North Iowa.
Randy loved his family, enjoyed listening to classic rock and never turned down an opportunity to cheer on the Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Twins. He was a man of faith and loved to make others laugh and smile.
He is survived by his brother, Mark and wife, Becky (Curran) Boyd of Albert Lea, MN; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their children.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Donna Shearer and Janet Boyd.
