Brandy Lea Howell, 45, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel.

Brandy Lea Howell, 45, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE, Mason City, Iowa. Burial will follow at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE, Mason City, IA.

Family kindly requests that Memorials be directed to Chris Howell.

Brandy was born on April 7, 1978, in North Carolina, the daughter of Steven Graves and Tina Ashby. She grew up in Mason City, Iowa and graduated from Mason City High School. Brandy spent her work life as a personal assistant at One Vision and later on as a supervisor at Mosaic in Forest City. She was a very selfless person and thrived on putting others before herself. She often enjoyed volunteering for Toys for Tots and the North Iowa Youth Center. On June 22, 2013 Brandy married Christopher Howell.

Brandy found joy in the company of her children, family, and pets, cherishing moments spent together. She enjoyed numerous activities with her children but especially loved swimming with them. Brandy also loved fishing and going to the movies with her husband. Regardless of the activity, Brandy consistently wore a smile, radiating positivity in all aspects of her life.

Those left to cherish memories of Brandy are her husband, Chris Howell; children, Abigail (Christian) Werstein, Zackrey (Grace) Werstein, and Layla Werstein; one grandson on the way; father, Steve (Kathy Marie) Graves; mother, Tina Ashby; mother in-law, Robin Kettwick; brother, Michael Graves; sister, Windy Walker; aunts and uncles, Jan (Alan) Bouska, Nora Graves, Gene (Katy) Alexander, Sue Graves and Patricia Graves; sister in-law, Abby Howell; feline friend, Kiki and Canine Companion, Buster; as well as many other extended family members and friends.

Brandy is preceded in death by her grandma, Delia Deeny; uncle, Gary Graves; cousins, Joshua Frank and Tracey Ciurej; special dogs; Fozzy and Toby.
