IOWA CITY – Utah State is adding a seasoned quarterback to its roster as former Iowa Hawkeye quarterback Spencer Petras announced he is headed out west to sling the pigskin for the Aggies.
Petras, 24, last played for Iowa in the 2022 season as he didn’t exercise remaining eligibility with the Hawkeyes. In that season, Petras won the Team Hustle Award on offense. Petras did not see action in 21-0 Music City Bowl win over Kentucky due to injury. He compiled a 20-11 record as starting QB.
The Utah State Aggies finished 6-6 this season and will face Georgia State in Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
