NORTH CAROLINA – The #3 Iowa Hawkeyes are in Charlotte, North Carolina, for the Ally Tipoff against the #5 Virginia Tech Hokies inside Spectrum Arena. Tip-off is set for Thursday night at 7 p.m. (CT) on ESPN2 and will air on the Hawkeye Radio Network.
This will be the third meeting between the two programs. Iowa leads the all-time series, 2-1. Lisa Bluder is undefeated against the Hokies, with the last win coming in the 2011-

• The Hokies made the Final Four last season but fell to LSU in the Semifinals.
• Since Kenny Brooks’ arrival in Blacksburg, the Hokies have enjoyed seven consecutive winning seasons, and made three consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
• Center Elizabeth Kitley became the program’s first 2,000-point scorer and she is also first in Virginia Tech women’s basketball history in field goals, blocks and double-doubles.
• She is a two-time ACC Player of the year, two-time Kay Yow Scholar Athlete of the Year and two-time AP All-American. Kitley is the first Hokie to hold those titles, in addition to being a three-time First Team All-ACC player and two-time All-Defensive Team member.
• Point guard Georgia Amoore won the ACC’s MVP of the ACC Tournament in 2023 and went on to be Seattle 3 Region’s Most Outstanding Player in the NCAA Tour- nament. She was a First Team All-ACC athlete during the regular season and also garnered AP All-America Honorable Mention precognition.
