Shirley Ann Feaver, 81, of Hemet, California, formerly of Forest City, Iowa, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Temecula Valley Hospital in Temecula, California.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 1st Avenue North, Clear Lake, Iowa 50428. Visitation will take place the night prior from 4:00 PM to 6:00PM. Burial will be at Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City, Iowa.

Shirley was born September 19, 1942 in Forest City; daughter of Leon and Wava (Nelson) Gelner. She was raised in Iowa until she was fourteen years old when her family moved to Anaheim, California. She married Robert Boyd on June 24, 1960 and had a son, Michael Boyd. She later divorced and went on to marry David Sanders in June of 1967. Together they had a daughter, Dana Sanders. Shirley moved to Costa Mesa where she raised her children in 1988. Later she moved to Murrieta as well as Aguanga. Shirley dedicated 20 years of her life to working in health care and moved to Hemet after she retired in 2004.

Shirley loved her dogs and spent many years raising maltese. When she lived in Murrietta she also spent a lot of time riding horses up in the mountains. She loved her games, especially Bingo as well as spending time at the beach. She enjoyed Newport Beach the most. Her family will remember her for her cooking. She loved cooking with the kids when they visited and she always made extra for them to take home to share. She took pride in the fruit trees she kept in her backyard as well as her roses. No one ever left a visit from her without something to take home.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Dana Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada and Mike Boyd of Costa Mesa; grandchildren, Christian Williams,Garrett Williams, and Kaitland Boyd; great-grandchildren, Dean Boyd and Atlas Williams; siblings, Jerald (Suzie) Gelner of Lavine, Arizona, and Janice Whitehurst of Clear Lake; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Leon (Nova) and Wava (Marvin) Nonnweiler; and sister, Leorna Gelner.
