MASON CITY – Weather permitting, the following are the updates and notices of road closures in Mason City for the sanitary sewer repair project as of Friday, October 27.
Update of current closures:
200 block of S Jackson: majority of concrete was poured; street will be open except for cones and caution tape around the boxout
600 block of 3rd Street SE repaired; concrete will be poured dependent on weather; will remain closed until sometime next week
300 block of West State Street, near N Madison repaired; will pour concrete and remain closed until sometime next week
New closures:
Intersection of 4th Street NW & N Jefferson for sewer repair and manhole replacement; intersection closed for approximately 1 week
Intersection at 4th Street NE & N Carolina Avenue for sewer repair and replacement of the casting on the manhole; closed for approximately 1 week
Planned repairs for next week:
Monday, October 30: 800 block of 11th Street NE. The contractor will need to close this Monday and it should also be approximately 1 week.
Tuesday, October 31: 700 block of S Rhode Island; dependent on weather, closed for approximately 1 week
Additional closures will be forthcoming as the project continues. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes during this time.
