IOWA CITY – The University of Iowa women’s wrestling team released the details of the 2023-24 season on Monday. The Hawkeyes will host two home duals inside of Carver Hawkeye Arena.
Notes about the 2023-24 season:
Iowa opens the season on Nov. 4 in Pennsylvania where they will face East Stroudsburg University in the Hawkeye’s first ever dual. They conclude the weekend at the Princeton Tiger Collegiate Open on Nov. 5
The Hawkeyes will host their first ever dual in Carver Hawkeye Arena on Nov. 12 as they welcome Sacred Heart, Presbyterian and Lindenwood. They will host a second home dual on Jan. 21 with teams to be announced at a later date.
Iowa will be represented at the Missouri Valley College Open in Marshall, Missouri (Nov.17-18) and the North Central College Open in Naperville, Illinois (Dec. 10).
The team will travel to Las Vegas to compete in the Las Vegas Desert Duals on Dec. 17.
Iowa will close out the 2023 calendar year competing at the Soldier Salute at Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa Dec. 29-30.
The Hawkeyes open the 2024 calendar year at the National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa Jan. 5-6.
Iowa will travel to Fort Wayne, Indiana for the Indiana Tech Warrior Duals and Open Jan. 26-27.
They close out the regular season on the road at the University of Sioux Falls on Jan. 31
The postseason will begin with the NCWWC Regional Championships Feb. 23-24 and finish at the National Championships on March 8-9 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Iowa announced in September 2021 it would become the first Division I Power Five school to add women’s wrestling.
