On Saturday September 2, 2023, at approximately 12:51 PM, consolidated dispatch in Waterloo received a call of a shooting in progress at E. 4th Street and Mulberry. Waterloo Police and Waterloo Fire Personnel arrived on scene and found a male victim who had been shot and began performing life saving measures. The male was transported by Waterloo Fire Personnel to Allen Hospital. The male victim was later pronounced dead.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members.
