AMES – A man was shot and taken to a hospital in Ames, leading to a police investigation.
On August 30, 2023, at 9:57 p.m., the Ames Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 3800 block of Tripp Street. Responding officers located one male victim who is being treated at an area hospital. The status of the victim is currently unknown.
Based on an initial investigation, police do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
The Ames Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
