CEDAR FALLS – The madness of preseason college basketball returns to downtown Cedar Falls in September as UNI’s Main Street Madness returns to the streets on Sept. 21.

The free event is a one-of-a-kind fan experience in downtown Cedar Falls and is sponsored by First Bank, with additional support from Pixel Labs and SnapSports of Western Wisconsin & Eastern Iowa.

In partnership with Community Main Street and River Place Plaza, all vehicular traffic will be restricted on State Street near River Place Plaza, allowing fans to freely walk to preview and interact with the 2023-24 UNI men’s and women’s basketball teams on a court in the middle of downtown Cedar Falls.

Main Street Madness starts at 5:30 p.m. CT with a social hour followed by the basketball teams arriving at 6 p.m. CT. The Panthers will take the court for some skill challenges and public interaction.

Fans will be treated to a live DJ, giveaways, facepainting for kids, and much more. Fans are encouraged to show up early for their chance to get their hands on a special edition rally towel (while supplies last), courtesy of First Bank. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the event. Fans will get a chance to engage with student-athletes and coaches from both the men’s and women’s basketball programs.

Registrations are encouraged, but walk-ups are welcomed. Click here to register.
