RURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – Two Chevy silverado pickup trucks collided at a remote Cerro Gordo county intersection Sunday morning, hurling both vehicles into a ditch and an Iowa woman into a Mason City hospital.
On August 13, 2023 at 9:59 AM, Cerro Gordo county deputies were dispatched to the intersection of 340th Street and Raven Ave. for a 2-vehicle accident involving personal injuries. The first vehicle, a 2015 Chevy Silverado was being driven southbound on Raven Ave. by Kathy Brau, age 60, of St. Olaf, Iowa. The second vehicle, a 1999 Chevy Silverado was being driven westbound on 340th Street by Scott Shafer, age 51, of Plymouth, Iowa.
