Virginia L. “Ginny” Raible, 78 of Mason City passed away peacefully Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Rockwell Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2023 at Epiphany Parish-St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302 5th St SE, Mason City, IA. She will be laid to rest at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City, IA with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m.
Virginia Lynn was born March 28, 1945 in Bismarck, ND the daughter of Daniel F. and June M. (Ludeke) Collins. Following her father’s military career, the family made their home in Clear Lake. Virginia attended Newman High School, graduating in 1963. On October 31, 1963 she married Henry Battleson at Holy Family Catholic Church. This union was blessed with three sons, Doug, Dean and Steve. The couple later separated and Virginia found her home in Dubuque. She married Jerry Raible and the couple enjoyed numerous years together until his passing. Over the years Ginny worked in administration to include Mercy ER Registration and retail in Mason City.
Ginny and her mother, June were blessed to live together in Mason City prior to June’s passing in 2017.
Ginny’s home was adorned with symbols of faith that brought her solace. Her love knew no bounds, constantly caring for her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. Ginny’s animated spirit and playful demeanor brightened every room she entered. She was an avid reader, which included history. Her thoughtfulness was remarkable, never forgetting a birthday, showering loved ones with heartfelt cards and calls. Above all, Ginny’s enduring strength and devotion to family leave an indelible legacy of love and hope.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Doug Battleson of Johnson City, TN, Dean (Heather) Battleson of Evansville, TN, Steve (Sara) Battleson of Hoschton, GA; grandchildren, Melanie, Diana, Seth, Sundae, Zachary and Taylor; brother, Daniel (Betsy) Collins; aunt, Marilyn Coulter; cousins, Eldonna, Juanita, and Lance; cherished friends, Sally Becker and Gene Casterson, both of Mason City; as well as a niece and extended family.
Preceding her in death are her parents and husband, Jerry Raible.
