CEDAR FALLS – UNI football will celebrate a special milestone year in 2023 as it commemorates 125 seasons of play on the gridiron with a pair of special ticket deals.

In celebration of UNI’s quasquicentennial football season, the Panthers will be offering a special $125 season ticket deal on the east side of the UNI-Dome beginning July 31 and running through August 4. This deal is for the purchase of new season tickets only. Fans can purchase these special season tickets online with the promo code, 125Cats.

Over 1,300 have donned the purple and gold and taken the field for the Panthers since the program’s first season in 1895, with UNI totaling 690 wins and capturing 31 conference titles in the process. The Panthers have fielded a team every year since with the exception of 1906, 1907, 1944 and 1945.

Throughout the 2023 season, UNI will also honor its proud football legacy with special commemorative logo decals on player helmets. Historic moments, players and coaches from the first 125 seasons of Panther football will also be highlighted on social media, during home games and on the program’s special 125th season website.

“Our 125th season is a celebration of the people who make UNI football what it is,” said head coach Mark Farley. “It’s about the vast collection of players, coaches and remarkable teams, as well as a reflection of the lasting moments and achievements we strive for. We’re excited to celebrate our 125th season this fall because we know today’s program would not be where it is today without those who came before us to create a legacy and inspire our up-and-coming generations to achieve greatness.”

The Panthers will kickoff the 2023 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 1 p.m. CT against the Iowa State Cyclones in Ames at Jack Trice Stadium. UNI’s first home game of the season is scheduled for a week later on Sept. 9 at 4 p.m. CT against Weber State.
