Edward “Ed” Albert Walter, 67, of Mason City, IA, passed away July 27, 2023, at Clarion Wellness and Rehab Center in Clarion, IA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM, August 1, 2023, at Epiphany Parish St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302 5th St SE, Mason City, IA 50401. Burial will take place at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorials may be dedicated to the care of the family.
Ed was born March 27, 1956, in Mason City, son of John Edward and Jeanette (Pierce) Walter. He attended Mar Mac Public School in McGregor, IA. He moved back to Mason City in the early 1970’s and went on to work for the Pipe union as a laborer. He met and was united in marriage to Terry Nelson September 15, 1985.
Ed was a major Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Twins fan. He’d never miss a game if he could help it. He was an avid animal lover and enjoyed keeping a number of cats and dogs over the years.
Ed is survived by his children, Dustin Walter of Mason City, Danielle Daniels of Belmond, IA, Ashley (Brenton) Neve of Titonka, IA, and Skylar Walter Neve (Brody); grandchildren, Kellan, Jade, Lillieann, Zane, Shay, Emilie, Jax, Triniti, and Memphis; siblings, Jack Madigan, Patricia Kozelka, and Nancy Eastman; and beloved companion, Kitty “Bojangles”.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Terry; parents, John and Jeanette; siblings, Michael Walter, John Walter, and Patrick Walter; and beloved dog, Ringo.
