Randy Allan Brierly, 60, of Nora Springs, IA, passed away unexpectedly June 6, 2023.
The family will hold a private graveside service at a later date.
Randy was born September 21, 1962, in Harmony, Minnesota, son of Gale and Betty (Carpenter) Brierly. He graduated from Nora Springs High School. Randy worked as a Nursery Manager with Balsam Cooperative until 2010. He then returned to working for R.A Brierly Construction until 2014. His last place of work was with Dean Snyder Construction until 2019.
Randy was an avid coon hunter and turkey hunter.. He loved to listen to his hounds running a good track and listening to spring gobblers. He enjoyed working with his hands as well as trapping and riding his motorcycle. Randy had a gift to gab and could talk for hours. Randy was always a straight shooter; he never hesitated to tell you exactly what he thought. One could say he never met a stranger. He had a heart of gold and always made sure to be there if his family needed any kind of help. Randy especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. It meant a lot to him to take them four-wheeling down the greenbelt and attend as many of their ball games as he could. He took great pride in being the loudest person in the crowd cheering them on.
Randy is survived by his children, Justin (Jess) Brierly of Nora Springs and Heather (Dustin) Brokel of Rockford, IA; grandchildren, Zoey, Paisley, Bailey, Abi, Kylie, and Ryan; mother, Betty; sisters, Marilynn Ritter, Kathy Basgall, Susan Brierly, and Patty Book; brothers, Dennis Brierly and Barry Brierly; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Gale; and brothers Terry “Fritz” Brierly and Howard Brierly
