Clarice Ann (Handeland) Leraaen, 91, of Charles City, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at home surrounded by her family.
Clarice was born June 21, 1931, in Radcliff, IA. She was the child of Clarence and Amanda Handeland. She attended Carpenter Grade School and then Northwood High School, graduating in 1950.
November 3, 1950, Clarice married Myron O. Leraaen. They lived in Northwood, Iowa, and moved to Charles City in 1965. They had three children, Allen (wife Mary), Linda Clark, Ronald (deceased 2022), and one grandchild, Amanda Clark.
In addition to raising her three children, Clarice worked for the Floyd County Sheriff for 25 years. After her retirement, she and her husband spent time traveling the U.S. in their RV and wintering in Mission, TX. She enjoyed baking, fishing, and spending time with her family.
Clarice was a dedicated wife, loving mother, and grandmother, and adored by everyone she met.
