Clear Lake- Terry “Zak” Erland Sacre, 72, died Sunday, June 4, 2023, at his home.

Terry Erland Sacre was born November 18, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; the son of Cecil Raymond and Genevieve Billie (Weld) Sacre. Terry graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School in the class of 1969, continuing his education at the University of Northern Iowa. While in college, Terry “Zak” was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

Terry spent the majority of his life residing in Cedar Falls, IA, where he met Ann Marie Himebaugh. The two were wed on June 19, 1999.

Terry worked as a salesman for Frito Lay retiring after 30 years of service. Following retirement, he worked for Martin Brothers for several years. Terry and Ann moved to Clear Lake to spend their Summers and enjoy their Winters in Fort Meyers, Florida.

Throughout Terry’s life, he enjoyed running, softball, sand volleyball, attending UNI athletic events, spending time at the lake, reading and recently found his love of playing board games with family. Terry’s greatest love was spending time with his family and friends.

Terry is survived by his wife Ann Sacre, Clear Lake, IA; children Bryan (Rhonda) Sacre, West Des Moines, IA, Jason (Helen) Sacre, Breckenridge, CO, Kyle (Laura) Sacre, Clive, IA, Mackenzie (Anver) Larson, Waconia, MN; grandchildren Paxon Sacre, Prezley Sacre, Izzy Sacre, Scout Sacre, Anver Larson, Lucky Sacre, Annabelle Larson, and one expected grandchild in December 2023; sister Jackie Krousie, Cedar Rapids, IA; brother-in-law Steve Himebaugh; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Genevieve Sacre; half-sister Sharon Cerka and parents-in-law Marvin and Hazel Himebaugh.
