Richard Dwight Nall was born October 7, 1929, the son of Clarence and Sylva (Applegate) Nall. He grew up on the farm near Corwith and attended Corwith Consolidated School. After attending school, Rich began working on the family farm.

On January 13, 1951, Richard was united in marriage to Betty Adams at the Baptist Church in Britt. After their marriage they lived and farmed west of Corwith. They raised their family on the farm and lived in the country until moving into Corwith in 2001.

In the 1960s, Richard began working as a rural mail carrier for the US Postal Service out of Corwith while continuing to work the family farm. He never fully retired from farming but retired from the Postal Service in 2001.

Rich had a deep love for his family and treasured his time with grandchildren, and great grandchildren. For years after Betty passed, a mere mention of her name would bring instant tears to his eyes. Every week, Julie would have her Dad over for Sunday dinner and Rich would make the rounds of visiting all family members the same day. Frequent trips were made to Minnesota to spend time with Judy and her family. A special treat was having fun at the casino while visiting Minnesota. Dwight and his family spent time with Rich working the family farm together.

Richard died Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City. He was 93. Richard is survived by his children; Julie (Jon) Wittmeier of LuVerne, Judy (Stephen) Johnson of Hastings, Minnesota, Dwight (Donna) Nall of Corwith, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
