Ruth Bergman-Bohnsack, 87, of Rockwell, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at her home, under the care of St. Croix Hospice. Woodley Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Iowa Falls is assisting the family with cremation care.
Our dear mother, Ruth Elizabeth Bergman, passed away May 17, 2023 at the age of 87. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when you needed her. She was very loved and will be missed terribly.
Ruth was born May 27, 1935 in West Bend, Iowa. She was adopted by Bill and Bessie Ficken and grew up in Rockwell, Iowa.
She loved to spend time with her family, gardening and any type of flowers and plants. Her favorites to do were bird watching, shopping and eating with her girls and granddaughters, gambling, fishing, drinking hot chocolate with lots of whipped cream. She loved her dog, Daisy and she LOVED Christmas.
She is survived by her husband, Dan Bender; her daughters, Christy (Dan) Walker, Kathy Ames and Carla (Roger) Myers; grandchildren; Katie (Jamie) Ancel, Nick Walker, Trenton Ames, Heather (Sean) Murphy, Kristen (Adam) Wedmore, Joseph (Riley) Myers; great grandchildren: Samantha, Brianna, Dylan, Christopher Ancel (Katie), Patrick & Lily Murphy (Heather), Addison and Evanee Ames (Trent), Owen, Olivia, Greyson Wedmore (Kristen), Kallie and Nelly Myers (Joseph), Oliver and Isabella Walker (Nicholas). She was preceded in death by her parents,Bill and Bessie Ficken, brother, Charles Ficken, sons, Billy and Clifford Losee, husband, Woody Bergman and a grandson, James Myers.
We will be celebrating her life at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Rockwell, Iowa on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. If you would like to pay your respects you are welcome to celebrate this wonderful, loving woman with us.
