ROCK RAPIDS, IOWA – A Northern Iowa farmer died in an accident Wednesday when the tractor he was operating was sideswiped by a tank truck and sent into a ditch.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. At about 11:13 AM, near the 3600 block of 180th Street in Edna, Iowa, a 2007 International tank truck operated by 82-year-old Dennis Hayenga of Little Rock, Iowa, was westbound. Also headed that direction was a 1963 Formal 469 tractor operated by 77-year-old Myron Krull of Rock Rapids. The truck attempted to pass the tractor and struck the left rear corner of a sprayer the tractor was pulling. The result sent the tractor rolling into a ditch.
As a result of the collision, Myron Krull was killed.
