Ethel Mae Endriss, 82, of Kensett, IA, passed away May 3, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

The family will be hosting a celebration of life at 1:00pm, Saturday, May 20, 2023, at their home, 100 Elm Street, Kensett, IA 50448.

Ethel was born January 28, 1941, in Mason City, IA; daughter of Clifford and Alma “Peg” (Ward) Odom. She graduated from Sheffield High School, where she met the love of her life, Glenn Endriss. They were united in marriage on January 25, 1959.

Ethel was a devoted wife and mother. She made sure everyone was taken care of before herself. She filled every role her family needed, be that a nurse, referee, therapist; you name it and she would be there. Ethel loved to sing and shared her passion with her children. She and Glenn would sing and play music together at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, IA. Her signature is still in their green room. Ethel especially enjoyed traveling away from the cold. In the winter, she lived in Fayetteville, AR; in the fall and spring, she lived in Kensett; and in the summers she would spend time up in Minnesota. Everything she did was about being with her family, even if she thought they fussed over her too much.

Ethel is survived by her children, Kelly (Joe) Kough, Fayetteville, AR., Glenn Jr. (Meredith) Endriss, Backus, MN, Kathy Endriss (Scott Pals), Kensett, Karen Rae (Andy Fitch), Breezy Point, MN, Thomas (Cindy Olson) Endriss, Brainerd, MN, Clifford Endriss (Christi Stiner), Ideal Corners, MN; special son, Scott (Kim) Anderson, Appleton, WI.; 33 grandchildren; and many beloved great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; daughter, Kimberly Jo; and parents, Clifford and Alma.
