Ninfa Monteon, 93, of Mason City, died peacefully at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home on Friday, April 21, 2023.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 2nd St SE, Mason City. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. with a one-hour prior visitation on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.
Ninfa was born on October 30, 1929, in Mason City to Socorro and Feliza (Ramirez) Rodriguez. She lived in Mason City up until 3rd grade then resided with family in Mexico until moving back to Mason City as an adult. Ninfa was united in marriage on August 30, 1954, to Cornelio Monteon. She was a very talented seamstress and worked for Mode O’ Day. Ninfa made her own clothes and also did alternations on any clothing she bought for herself and anyone else that needed it. She loved socializing with friends and family. Ninfa had a sometimes-feisty personality but she also had the biggest heart. Ninfa was a giver and would help anyway she could. She was very self-sufficient, even in her later years.
She is survived by the Barragan family: Guadalupe (Maria) Barragan, Lou Barragan, John Barragan, Frank Barragan, Tom Barragan and Henry Barragan; two close friends, Brenda Mills and Mark Wiebrand and her family in Mexico.
Ninfa was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 4 sisters and 1 brother.
