ESTHERVILLE – A traffic stop recently resulted in the arrest of two Estherville women on drug and weapons charges.
According to Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens, a sheriff’s deputy on patrol initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at 11:24pm April 1st in the in the 10 block of Central Avenue in Estherville for an equipment violation.
Upon investigation at the scene by the sheriff’s office, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and a handgun were located.
As a result, Jodeci Holmes age (21) and Andrea McLoughlin age (19) both of Estherville were placed under arrest and transported to the Emmet County Jail.
Holmes was booked for Possession of a firearm as a felon (a class (D) felony), Possession of a controlled substance 2nd offense, (a serious misdemeanor), Persons ineligible to carry weapons, (a serious misdemeanor) and Possession of drug paraphernalia, ( a simple misdemeanor). She remains jailed at this time, records show.
McLoughlin was booked for Possession of a controlled substance 2nd offense, (a serious misdemeanor), Possession of a contraband within a correctional institution, (a class (D) felony), Persons ineligible to carry a dangerous weapons, (a serious misdemeanor) and insufficient number of headlamps (a simple misdemeanor). She has bonded out of jail at this time, records show.
