Women’s JUCO Softball: NIACC improves ranking to No. 17

MASON CITY - After two weeks at No. 20 in the NJCAA Division II rankings, the NIACC softball team moved up three spots to No. 17 in the poll released Monday.

MASON CITY – After two weeks at No. 20 in the NJCAA Division II rankings, the NIACC softball team moved up three spots to No. 17 in the poll released Monday.

NIACC (26-8 overall, 10-2 in the ICCAC) has won nine straight games, including back-to-back four-game sweeps of Iowa Central and Northeas CC.

Murray State (38-0) is ranked No. 1 and Northwest Mississippi (24-2) is ranked second.

DMACC (29-7) is ranked ninth, Kirkwood (32-9) is ranked No. 13 and Iowa Lakes (24-10) is ranked No. 20.

NIACC returns to action Friday and Saturday at home with a four-game series against Ellsworth.

NJCAA Divsion II rankings (4-10-23) – Murray State, Northwest Mississippi, Parkland, Louisburg, South Mountain, Phoenix, Jones, Northeast Mississippi, DMACC, Copiah-Lincoln, Pearl River, LSU-Eunice, Kirkwood, Catawba Valley, Rock Valley, St. Louis, NIACC, Itawamba, Spoon River, Iowa Lakes.
