Marlis died Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Kossuth Regional Health Center. She was 83.

A funeral service for Marlis will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Grace Church with Pastor Patrick Mostek officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Grace Church. The funeral will be live streamed on Grace Church’s Facebook and YouTube pages.

Marlis Theone (Barber) Moe was born October 30, 1939, in Whittemore, the daughter of Orville and Theone (Flagel) Barber. She grew up in Whittemore and graduated from Whittemore High School in 1957. Following high school, Marlis worked in Fort Dodge for a short time.

On December 15, 1958, Marlis was united in marriage to Richard Harold Moe in Algona. Together, they were blessed with four children. Marlis worked at Snap-On, formerly known as Wheidenhoff, from 1964 until retiring in August of 1999.

She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, gambling, traveling, and bird watching. Marlis especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of Grace Church and enjoyed quilting with fellow members for many years.

Marlis died Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Kossuth Regional Health Center. She was 83.

She is survived by her children, Mark Moe of Algona, Lindsey (Janelle) Moe of Algona, Tracey (Mike) Rusch of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Kirk Moe of Waukee, Eric Moe of Ankeny, Amanda Lee of St. Augustine, FL, Alissa (Curtis) Trulson of Algona, Jordann Becker of Algona, Aaron Moe of Algona, Joshua (Angela Wichtendahl) Rusch of Buffalo, MN, Amber (Alex) Crofford of Richfield, MN, Heather (Kyle) Walker of Williams; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Owen, Nathaniel, Andrew, Matthew, Alexander, Elizabeth, Rosemund, Eleanor, McKinley, Charlie, Leonard, Philip, Edna, Abigail, William, Theodore; sister, Geneva Hovey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Orville and Theone; husband, Richard; son, Michael Moe, and siblings; Verla Beisch, Sharon Thompson, Norman Barber, and Russel Barber.
