KOSSUTH COUNTY – A Northern Iowa house raid rescued children from a drug-infested den and a wanted suspect is facing numerous felonies.

On March 13th, 2023, the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 302 210th Street near Whittemore. Deputies seized numerous items known to be associated with illegal drug use, such as cash, marijuana, and firearms.

As a result of the search warrant, the following charges were issued for Dakota Mullen, age 28, of 302 210th Street, Whittemore, Iowa:

• Possession of a firearm as convicted felon (Class D Felony)

• Possession of a controlled substance, 2nd or more offense (Class D Felony)

• Possession w/ intent to deliver controlled substance (Class D Felony)

• Failure to affix drug tax stamp (Class D Felony)

• Unlawful possession of prescription drug (Serious Misdemeanor)

• Child Endangerment (Class D Felony)

• Possession of drug paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor)

Arrest warrants have been issued for Dakota Mullen. The child endangerment charge is due to minor children living at the residence where illegal drug activity is present.

Further charges are pending as this investigation remains active.
