POLK COUNTY, IOWA - An Iowa man was struck and killed by a driver while standing in middle of an Iowa Interstate highway, dressed in dark clothing.

POLK COUNTY, IOWA – An Iowa man was struck and killed by a driver while standing in middle of an Iowa Interstate highway, dressed in dark clothing.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the incident took place on Sunday, March 19, 2023. At about 8:38 PM that night, at the I-80 westbound 141 mile marker in Polk county, 36-year-old Perry Wilton Robert Dodds of Des Moines was standing in the center lane of the Interstate wearing all dark clothes. A 2022 Chevy Silverado driven by 49-year-old Rodney Gene Fuller of Grimes, Iowa, struck Dodds.

He was killed on impact, the patrol says.
