MASON CITY – For the second straight season, NIACCs Myles Tucker has been selected to the all-NJCAA Region XI men’s basketball first-team.
Tucker, a sophomore guard, was one of eight first-team all-region selections.
It is the fifth straight season that a NIACC men’s basketball player has earned first-team all-region honors.
Tucker, who is from Ottawa, Ill., averaged 19.7 points per game, which led the ICCAC. Tucker was second in the league with 80 3-point goals.
The sophomore had four games over 30 points this season, going for a career-high 42 at Southwestern on Jan. 28.
Tucker finished his 2-year career at NIACC with 1,028 points, which ranks 10th on the school’s career scoring list. Tucker’s 135 3-point goals ranks fourth on the school’s career 3-point list.
Tucker is the fourth NIACC men’s basketball player since 2000 to be a two-time first-team all-region selection.
The other three Trojans to earn first-team all-region honors two times this century are Deundra Roberson (2018-19 and 2019-20, Quentin Hardrict (2018-19 and 2019-20) and David Humphries (2012-13 and 2013-14).
Iowa Lakes’ Jeremiah Burke was selected as the regional player of the year. Iowa Lakes’ Troy Larson was selected as the regional coach of the year.
