Christina “Chris” Marie Martin, 54, of Charles City, IA passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the Floyd County Medical Center.
Chris was born on October 28, 1968 in Mason City, IA and was raised by her parents, Harold and Gloria (Floy) Martin. She graduated in 1987 from the Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock Community School District. Chris worked for many years at Kwik Star as a cook. She was a loving mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. Chris absolutely loved anytime she was able to spend with her 8 grandchildren.
Chris was known by everyone as a social butterfly. She had a contagious laugh and outgoing personality. She loved having fun and drinking “Bud” (Budweiser) with her friends at Whitetails in Marble Rock. Chris liked playing pool, darts, singing, dancing, and listening to music. She was the life of the party and had the ability to put a smile on anyone’s face. Chris also enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino. She did some traveling throughout her life; Chris’s favorite place to visit was the ocean and she loved dolphins. Chris was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Alisha Martin (Gage Rowe) of Rudd and Derek Glass (Krystal Sanders) of Mason City, grandchildren: Colton, Chloe, Braxton, Kora, Haizlee, Ryker, Jackson, and Maverick, and her dear friend of 15 years, Denny Dundee and many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Gloria Martin; brothers, John and Roy Martin; and nephew, Todd Martin.
A gathering with family and friends to celebrate her life will be held on
March 25th 2023 from 3-7pm
