ST. LOUIS – A pair of UNI men’s basketball players have landed spots on the Missouri Valley Conference’s (MVC) Most Improved and All-Bench Teams, as announced by the league office.

Panther forward Tytan Anderson was selected to and named the captain of this year’s Most Improved Team, while guard Landon Wolf was named to the All-Bench Team.

Anderson, a third year sophomore out of Eldridge, Iowa, earns his first all-conference recognition after averaging 12.6 points and a league-high 8.8 rebounds this season, one year removed from notching just 1.9 points and 2 rebounds per game as a freshman.

Leading the MVC with 11 double-doubles this season, Anderson scored a career-high 25 points against St. Bonaventure back in late December, and pulled down a career-best 18 rebounds against Murray State last month. Anderson’s 18 boards against the Racers set a new single-game home record and tied the program’s record for rebounds in a game against an MVC opponent. Anderson was also named to the All-Tournament Team of the NABC Hall of Fame Classic back in November.

Wolf, a freshman hailing from Cedar Falls, Iowa, picks up his second MVC honor in as many days after being named a Third Team MVC Scholar-Athlete on Monday. The 6’5″ guard has recorded 7.8 points off the bench this season for the Panthers, ranking second on the roster with 49 made three-point field goals and shooting 37.7% from beyond the arc.

Wolf is one of eight freshmen in the MVC this season to score over 200 points in their first season on the floor, and one of three Panthers to do so, joining teammates Michael Duax and Trey Campbell. Wolf closed the regular season with a career-high and team-leading 21 points in UNI’s final game on Sunday against Belmont.
