MASON CITY – NIACC sophomore point guard Audrey Martinez-Stewart was selected as the ICCAC women’s basketball player of the week for the week of Feb. 13-19.
It was the second time this season and third time in her career that Martinez-Stewart won the league’s player of the week honor.
Martinez-Stewart also won the award for the week of Jan. 2-8 this season and was honored for her performance for the week of Jan. 31-Feb. 6 in the 2021-22 season.
Last week, Martinez-Stewart recorded a her second career triple/double with 16 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists in a victory at Iowa Central. She also scored 14 points with eight rebounds, four assists and three steals in the Trojans’ upset win over then No. 5 Iowa Western.
Stewart currently ranks third on NIACC’s career assist list with 258 and is tied for fourth on the school’s career steals list with 177.
NIACC (17-10 overall, 8-6 n the ICCAC) returns to action Saturday in an ICCAC contest at Northeast CC. Game time in Norfolk, Neb. is slated for 1 p.m.
