Natalie K. Carlson, 41, of Lake Mills left this world too soon on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at MercyOne Des Moines.
A Memorial Service will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Conner Colonial Chapel, 1008 1st Ave. South, Northwood, with Rev. Randy Baldwin officiating.
The family will greet friends and relatives from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Natalie Kristine was born November 26, 1981 in Albert Lea, MN the daughter of Duane Carlson and Teresa (Luecht).
Growing up in Southern Minnesota and Northern Iowa, she attended Albert Lea and Northwood High Schools. In her life she was blessed with three children: Allissa, Tristan and Caden, and after meeting James Flatness was lucky enough to gain another she considered her own, Owen. Natalie worked various jobs in the area, but her favorite was being a full-time grandma. She cherished her grandchildren and loved every second with them.
Natalie’s life was her family. Whether it was spending time on the boat with her dad and siblings or relaxing with her mom and family, it truly made her happy. She looked forward to Garth Brooks and Jelly Roll concerts, especially the travels with James. Natalie was a mirror of her grandma Zona and looked after everyone she loved. Her goldendoodle Buddy always brought a smile to her face. Natalie’s unrelenting strength will be carried on by all who loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her fiancé, James Flatness; children, Allissa (Micah Roach) Wacek of Estherville, Tristan (Raven Suhr) Wacek of Kiester, Caden Carlson and Owen Flatness both of Lake Mills; grandchildren, Avaleigh Wacek, Kynsleigh Roach and Rylan Wacek; mother, Teresa (Shawn) Bottleman; father, Duane (Dena Starr) Carlson; siblings, Nichole (Jeremiah Ulferts) Carlson, Nathan Carlson, Dylan Carlson, and Hunter Carlson; paternal grandmother, Elaine Ramos; as well as beloved nieces, nephews, and many extended family members.
Preceding her in death are her maternal grandparents, Zona and LeRoy Luecht; paternal grandfather, Robert Carlson; and uncle, Jeffrey Luecht.
