LeRoy Reysack, 77, of Bristow, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023 at MercyOne North Iowa in Mason City.
A public visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Counsell Woodley Funeral Home in Dumont. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Counsell Woodley Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Dumont is caring for LeRoy and his family.
LeRoy LaVern Reysack was born September 26, 1945 in Parkersburg, a son of George and Etta (Folkerts) Reysack. He attended Country Schools in the Dumont area. After school LeRoy worked many jobs including tiling, fumigating grain bins, he worked at Peterson Tietz Flowers in Waterloo, Farmland Foods and spent many years at Liquid Grow in Hampton. After retiring from Liquid Grow he worked at Car Country Auto Body in Allison.
On September 21, 1973 LeRoy was united in marriage with Cindy Norman at the Dumont United Methodist Church. They raised 2 daughters.
LeRoy was a hard worker who enjoyed tinkering with old cars, other people’s junk was his treasure. He would drive around looking for old cars and offer to buy them to fix up. He loved fishing, his favorite spots were at Marble Rock and Camp Comfort. He loved to hunt and gamble, especially playing cards, and would watch hours of Western movies.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 50 years, Cindy; daughters: Michelle (Barry) Detwiler, Greene; Tina Reysack (Monty Severson), Hampton; grandchildren: Jesse (Megan) Reysack; Autumn Detwiler (Joey Boyle) son Octavious and stepdaughter Emilya Boyle; Mindi Sande; Mandi Sande; Brandon Weatherly and many extended adopted grandkids; brothers and sisters: Jimmy (Lavonne) Reysack, Charles City; Jans (Cindy) Reysack, Dumont; Johnny (Geneva) Reysack, Coulter; Hilda (Steve) Metz, Hampton; Tillene (Bill) DeBoer, Iowa Falls; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters George Jr. Reysack, Alice Campbell, Elmo Reysack, nephews Greg Reysack, Rick Reysack and Todd Metz.
