CLARKSVILLE, IOWA – Police in this small Northern Iowa community nabbed a wanted sex offender and put him behind bars for extradition.
On January 3rd around 10:15 pm the Clarksville Police made contact with a suspect in the 400 Block of North Main Street. After a brief investigation, police arrested a wanted man, 36-year-old Derek Slocum from Independence, Iowa. Slocum had multiple warrants out of Linn County, Iowa, for violation of pre-trial release and a sex offender registration violation, second offense. Slocum was transported to the Butler County Sheriff’s office in Allison and is being held, awaiting extradition.
Police were assisted at the scene by deputies from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
