DES MOINES – Former Mason City Mohawk standout Megan Meyer’s basketball season is over, as a knee injury and surgery will sideline the Drake Bulldog.

The Drake University women’s basketball team today announced that an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) taken earlier this week revealed that Bulldog senior guard Megan Meyer suffered a torn anterior cruiciate ligament (ACL). Meyer will have surgery at a to-be-determined date and will miss the remain-der of the 2022-23 season.

Meyer, the 2021-22 MVC Newcomer of the Year and a 2022-23 Preseason All-MVC honoree, averaged 12.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists while shooting 43.3% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range in eight games this season.
