Jennie Flynn, age 77, of Buffalo Center, passed away unexpectedly at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont, MN Thursday, December 29, 2022. A funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Divine Mercy Parish – Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ledyard. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The service will be live streamed on the Oakcrest Funeral Services Facebook page. Inurnment will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Buffalo Center.
Jennie Lee was born April 11, 1945, to Lenard and Shirley (Warren) Honken in Fairmont, MN. She graduated from Blue Earth Area School and later married Edward Flynn. Together they raised 2 children, Edward JR. and Stacy. Jennie and Ed were married for 56 years and enjoyed the farm life. She loved to play with kids, and she was excited to watch the great grandkids grow up. She loved baking and making food to feed an army, making homemade ice cream, playing cards, and loved Elvis. Her heart was so big; she loved helping everyone.
She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandma. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Edward Flynn of Ledyard/Buffalo Center; Son Stacy (Patty) Flynn of Lakota; former daughter-in-law Angie Flynn; grandchildren Stephanie (Caleb) Shimon of Titonka, Nicole (Kollin) Lange of Winthrop, MN, Tanya (Jon) Peterson of Forest City, Amy (Josh) Johnson Crystal Lake, and Adam Hanson of Forest City; great grandchildren Luke and Kaylee Shimon; brother Al (Linda) Honken of Lone Rock and sister Vickie Knight of Fairmont, MN; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Edward Jr., and brother Robert.
