A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert “Bob” Cink, will be held Monday, December 19, 2022, at 10:30 AM at Divine Mercy Parish – St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert “Bob” Cink, will be held Monday, December 19, 2022, at 10:30 AM at Divine Mercy Parish – St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Algona with military honors conducted by the Algona VFW and American Legion. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Oakcrest Funeral Services of Algona. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Izaak Walton League and Chips off the Old Block, in Bob’s memory.

Robert James Cink was born January 26, 1941, in Algona, son of Julius and Frances (Diers) Cink. Bob graduated with the class of 1959, the last graduating class from St. Cecelia’s High School. He worked at Snap on Tool Company prior to Bob serving in the United States Army. He started working for Northwestern Bell Telephone company, where he retired in 1998.

He was united in marriage on April 22,1967, to Beverly Johnson at St. Cecelia Catholic Church. The couple made their home in Algona. After retirement, Bob became a Kossuth County Supervisor serving for two terms. When not working for the phone company Bob would be found texturing ceilings, helping local farmers, or on the lake fishing or in the tree bow hunting. Bob truly enjoyed the outdoors. Bob also enjoyed a trip to the casino every so often to try his luck. He was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Chips off the Old Block.

Robert J. Cink, 81 of Algona died on Tuesday December 13,2022. at Kossuth Regional Healthcare Center at the age of 81.

He is survived by his wife Bev; two children, Jeff (Jacki) Cink and Julie (Joe) Bollig; six grandchildren, Lauren (Dan) O’Donnell, Claire (Logan) Busho, Meridith (Adam) Arndorfer, Seth Heinold, Maleri (Clinton) Schilling, and Madison (Johnny) Kettering; and four great grandchildren, June, Mack, Wren, and Scarlett. He is also survived by two sisters Alice Nelson and Patty (Herb) Clark; a brother, Jerry (Linda) Cink; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents; an infant brother Joseph; and two sisters, Beth Crabtree and Janet Lilly.
