POCAHONTAS COUNTY - A Northern Iowa man died in a two-vehicle crash in Pocahontas county.

POCAHONTAS COUNTY – A Northern Iowa man died in a two-vehicle crash in Pocahontas county.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident occurred on November 24, 2022. At 2:28 AM that morning, near the intersection of Highway 4 and 440th Street, a 2007 GMC Sierra driven by 75-year-old Richard Lieth of Hartley, Iowa, was traveling north on Highway 4 when the vehicle crossed the center line. The Sierra then collided with a 2019 Mack truck driven by 65-year-old Daniel Myers of Spencer, Iowa.

As a result of the crash, Richard Lieth was killed. Myers was uninjured.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Pocahontas sheriff, Pocahontas Fire and Ambulance and Havelock Fire.
