CEDAR FALLS – A Waterloo man was caught after fleeing police and charged with felony eluding and drunk driving.

On November 15, 2022, at 4:18 p.m., Cedar Falls Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle at 15th Street and Washington Street. The vehicle had been involved in an accident in Waterloo and fled from the scene. The driver refused to pull over and eluded officers. Officers pursued the vehicle east on 18th street, north on Highway 58, and east on Highway 218. The driver then began to exit Highway 218 onto Highway 63 where he came to a stop and was taken into custody. While eluding police, the suspect committed various driving offenses.

The suspect, Tyler Timion, 53 years of age from Waterloo, was charged with the following offenses:

– Eluding, a class D felony
– Operating while intoxicated 3rd offense, a class D felony

Cedar Falls Police were assisted by Waterloo Police, Black Hawk County Dispatch, and Can-Am Towing.
