BROOKINGS, S.D. – Four Panthers stood atop the podium with 14 total athletes medaling as UNI wrestling competed at the Daktronics Open on Sunday at Frost Arena, hosted by South Dakota State University.
UNI picked up titles with Cael Happel (141 pounds), Colin Realbuto (149 pounds), Derek Holschlag (157 pounds) and Austin Yant (165 pounds). Cayd Lara took second place at 165 pounds, while Noah Glaser also finished as the runner-up at 197 pounds. Kyle Biscoglia notched a third-place finish at 133 pounds, as Tyrell Gordon took third at 285 pounds.
Evan Yant and Happel combined for four of UNI’s seven falls, each recording a pair of falls en route to their first-place finishes. Yant’s two falls came in three minutes, 29 seconds, as Happel recorded his two falls in two minutes, 40 seconds. The Panthers also recorded major decision victories in 11 matches.

Parker Keckeisen will represent UNI at the NWCA All-Star Classic on Tuesday night in Austin, Tex. as he faces off against Aaron Brooks of Penn State at 184 pounds. The Panthers return to action in full on Nov. 26 at the Harold Nichols Cyclone Open in Ames.
