CHARLES CITY – A Charles City man was arrested after crashing car for operating while intoxicated, assault on an officer, and other charges.
The incident took place on the early morning of November 20, 2022. According to Charles City police, at 1:05 AM that morning, the Charles City police department took a report of a one vehicle accident in the 1000 block if Gilbert Street. A blue 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by 36-year-old Andrew Anderson of Charles City was found stuck on the sidewalk. After an investigation, Anderson was arrested for first-offense operating while intoxicated, failure to prove liability following an accident, operating without a license, open container of alcohol, interference with official acts and assault on a peace officer.
Police say Anderson’s car incurred about $500.00 of damage.
