Clear Lake- Ruth J. Jost 87, died Wednesday, November 16th, 2022, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, Mason City.

Clear Lake- Ruth J. Jost 87, died Wednesday, November 16th, 2022, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, Mason City.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2022, at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church, 508 2nd Ave. North, with Rev. Slyvester Holima officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 20th, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 1st Ave. North, Clear Lake.

Ruth JoAnn was born September 13, 1935, in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Blahnik) Ondrick. Ruth graduated from high school in Austin Minnesota. In 1955, she met her soulmate Ronald C. Jost. On June 15th, 1957, Ruth and Ron were united in marriage; to this union three daughters were born.

Ruth worked as a bookkeeper for numerous years, including Allied Mills and Hormel, both in Austin, MN., for her husband’s Optometric practice and Timberlane Animal Hospital in Clear Lake for many years. Ruth was a member of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church participating in U.M.W., church circle and was a founding member of the Clear Lake Lioness.

Ruth enjoyed gardening, music, trips to Las Vegas, shopping and she loved her cats! Ruth loved to cook, was known for her kindness and sense of humor; her greatest love was spending time with her family.

Ruth is survived by her daughters Rhonda (Ken) Sommerfield, Zumbrota, MN., Lori (Doug) Rockers, Greeley, KS., and Linda (Sam) Jost, Des Moines; grandchildren Nicole Jost, Des Moines, IA, Blake Yennie, Oregon, Bailey and Brady Rockers, Greeley, KS.; great-grandchildren, Armani, Kvion, Gabriel, Nala; along with several nieces, nephews, other friends and relatives.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, husband Dr. Ronald C. Jost; brothers Earl (Florence), Harold (Doris) and Freddy (Mary Jane) Ondrick and two Sisters-In-Law.
