CEDAR RAPIDS – An Iowa man died in a vehicle rollover after fleeing cops.

At approximately 2:06 AM on October 31, 2022, Cedar Rapids police officers attempted to perform a traffic stop on a black Chevy Tahoe for traffic violations. The driver of the Tahoe fled from officers on 33rd Ave SW continuing the pursuit onto I-380 southbound. The Tahoe exited I-380 and took the Highway 30 West exit ramp. At that time, the driver of the Tahoe lost control of the vehicle and rolled.

Jamie Hill, age 38 of Cedar Rapids, was pronounced dead as a result of the accident. Highway 30 was closed for Traffic Investigators and emergency personnel. It has since reopened.

Cedar Rapids Police Investigators and the Iowa State Patrol continue their investigation into the incident.
