MASON CITY – A political group is planning to hold a press conference in Mason City Wednesday on school spending.
Tomorrow, Progress Iowa is stopping in Mason City for a press conference as part of their Public Dollars for Public Schools Tour.
“We know that Iowans believe that public dollars belong in public schools, but that value has been under attack from Governor Reynolds and the Republican-led legislature the past several years,” the group said in a statement Monday. “Private school vouchers that would undermine the strength of our public schools by shifting necessary resources could return during the next legislative session.
“That’s why we’re holding these press conferences, to hold legislators that stand against our public schools accountable. Details are available below!”
