CEDAR RAPIDS – An Iowa teen was arrested for shooting a man.
As a result of an on-going investigation of a shooting incident occurring on October 9, 2022, Cedar Rapids Police arrested Amari McCray, 16, of Cedar Rapids, for Attempted Murder, Willful Injury Resulting in Serious Injury, and Going Armed with Intent.
On October 9, 2022, Cedar Rapids Police responded to the 2200 block of C Street SW after receiving reports of an individual that had been shot. Officers located Yadier Primero-Marquez, 29, of Muscatine, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound to his back. Primero-Marquez was transported to a local hospital for life saving treatment.
On October 20, 2022, Cedar Rapids Police Investigators arrested McCray and transported him to the Linn County Juvenile Detention Center.
