Bruce Allen Mogk passed away peacefully on October 9, 2022 at Mayo Health System Hospital in Austin, MN.

Bruce Allen Mogk passed away peacefully on October 9, 2022 at Mayo Health System Hospital in Austin, MN.

He was born on August 8, 1950 to Maynard and Nora (Johnson) Mogk in Osage, IA. He married Penny Robb in June of 1973, they later divorced. On October 23, 1982 he married Shirley Ferstl.

Bruce owned his own company, Mogk Construction, and was General Superintendent of SPF Builders where he built large hog confinements all over the United States. He also drove truck for Norseman hauling U.S. Mail. Bruce had the talented reputation of being able to fix anything.

Bruce was Vietnam Vet serving from 1969 to 1970. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, and very proud of his 24 years of sobriety. He was a member of the Sunset Saddle Club, being very proud of Ashley’s (granddaughter) talent on his horse Sally. He was also a member of Dry Riders, were he enjoyed riding motorcycle and making many wonderful friends.

Bruce is survived by his: wife, Shirley; sons, Jay (Christy) Ferstl of Lawson, MO, Mike (Kari) Mogk of Conger, MN, and Isaac (Kelly) Mogk of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, Jeff (Cassie) Ferstl, Jessica (Pat) Moore, Delanie Mogk, Joseph Hennebry, Theressa Thompson, Ashley Songstad, Anthony Graham, Steven Lifsey, Daegan Lifsey, Garrick Mogk Damon Mogk, and Devin Mogk; great-grandchildren, Jade Ferstl and Beckett Thompson; sister, Vickie (Brad) Flo of Kensett; brother, Dennis Mogk of St. Ansgar; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his: parents, Maynard and Nora Mogk; brother, Bob Mogk; son, Joseph Ferstl; sister-in-law, Cindy Mogk; niece, Jennifer Mogk.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2022 at First Lutheran Church in Northwood, IA with Rev. Becky Sogge officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Kensett Cemetery.
