Robert J. Jones, 42, of Mason City, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022 at MercyOne Medical Center in Mason City.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, September 9, 2022 at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE, Mason City, from 5:00 pm until 7:00pm. A time for sharing will begin at 7:00 pm.
The son of Thomas and Susan (Gomez) Jones, Robert was born and raised in Mason City. He grew up alongside his siblings, Audra, Michael, and Thomas. During his youth Rob enjoyed playing baseball and had a special bond with his younger brother, Thomas. They spent many afternoons rapping in the backyard and listening to music together.
Rob loved his family and friends and was extremely proud of his nieces and nephews. He loved gambling with Tom, camping and fishing with family, and playing Frisbee with his friends. Rob also liked searching for second hand treasures and was always on the hunt for the next great deal.
He was an animal lover and most recently had been caring for his Dad’s dog, Honey. Rob was a familiar face at Burger King where he enjoyed working and visiting with family and friends.
Rob is survived by his mother, Susan Jones, Mason City; siblings, Audra (Brian) Paulsen, Mason City, and Mike (Nikki) Jones, Mason City; sister in law, Nichole Jones, Mason City; nieces and nephews, Nick, Logan, Maverick, Abby, Cruz, Jaylee, Tucker, Xavier, Harlow, and Jaxtyn; special friend, Mindy Lybarger; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended relatives.
He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Jones; brother, Thomas Jones; maternal grandparents, John and Hermalinda Gomez; paternal grandparents, Bob and Lorraine Jones; and uncles, Terry Jones, Dan Jones, Raymond Gomez, and Nicholas Gomez.
