Audit of City of Mason City’s finances released

MASON CITY – An audit of the City of Mason City’s finances was released this week.

Kronlage & Olson, P.C., Certified Public Accountants today released an audit report on the City of Mason City for the year ended June 30, 2021.

The City’s revenues totaled $62,507,704 and included $26,766,756 of property and other taxes; $11,234,311 in federal and state funds; $21,332,801 of charges for services; and $1,058,581 of uses of money and property.

Expenses for the year totaled $57,858,519 and included $10,782,409 for public safety; $4,251,672 for public works; $416,585 for health and social services; $3,319,691 for culture and recreation; $3,588,200 for community and economic development; $2,543,243109 for general government; $5,529,048 for debt service; $7,644,944 for capital projects; and $19,783,087 for business-type activities.

A copy of the audit report is available for review in the Office of Auditor of State and the City Clerk’s office.
