Rockwell Harley-Davidson motorcycle rider strikes deer outside Mason City, taken to hospital with injuries

RURAL MASON CITY – A Rockwell Harley-Davidson motorcycle rider struck a deer outside Mason City and was taken to a hospital with injuries.

On June 24th, 2022, at approximately 3:53 AM, Cerro Gordo Sheriff’s Office responded to Highway 65 and 220th Street for a motorcycle versus deer collision. The driver, 26-year-old Justin Paul of Rockwell, Iowa, was driving a 2015 Harley Davidson Street Glide northbound on Highway 65 when it struck a deer crossing the roadway. Justin Paul sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Mercy One North Iowa by Mason City Fire.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Mason City Fire Department and Mason City Police Department.
