Jeffrey William Blanchard, 67, passed away June 19, 2022 in his home in Nora Springs, IA.
Those left to cherish his memory are his four children Adam (Andrea) Blanchard, Danielle (Patrick) Tegtmeier, Nate Blanchard, and Isaac Blanchard as well as multiple grandchildren. Jef was born on May 7, 1955 to William and Delores (Graff) Blanchard and is survived by 4 sisters and brothers; Barb (Paul) Seielstad, Lisa (Steve) Redig, Scott Blanchard, and Joe (Edie) Blanchard.
For many years, Jef was a racecar and automobile mechanic in Wisconsin and Minnesota, before settling with his family in 1990 in Iowa. He worked very hard to provide for his family and when back issues made it impossible to continue working as a mechanic, he went back to school and graduated from NIACC with a degree in accounting. Jef worked hard to make sure the people in his life were taken care of and would give you his last dollar if it meant he could help.
Jef enjoyed several hobbies. He was an avid gamer, a trait he loved to share with his children. Family Christmas was always filled with Mario Cart races and loving banter. He loved painting and building miniatures, particularly tanks. This was something he enjoyed sharing with his 3 year old grandson and they would sit for hours together working on projects. When his children were younger, he loved bow hunting and working with black powder pistols. He loved building computers and reading. The last few years he loved spending time with his grandkids. Their mornings together were the highlight of his day.
Jef was never one to like people making a fuss over him. So as a way to honor that sentiment and still celebrate his life, the kids will be holding a BBQ at a later date for close friends and family.
